Basis Audionet is a heavyweight, full-service, German IT organization that develops and supports carrier and enterprise-grade solutions for the telecommunications industry. They offer technological expertise in Switching, Media Gateways, Application Servers and Application development. Given that background, one can assume that their softphone "Communications Client” will be a cut above the rest in terms of functionality and that the company will stay the course in this competitive market. Basis Audionet is targeting Carriers, ISPs, Resellers and MSOs as well as Social Networking Providers and Communities. The software can run from a branded USB audio device. Suitable skins also allow service providers to add their logo or other corporate design elements.

Presence management indicates whether contacts are online and they can be contacted via VoIP and Video telephony as well as IM, or at an enhanced personal level, via 3-way audio/video conferencing. SMS and MMS can also be employed, although availability of these media depends on the service provider.
